Duct Tape- Aisle 5...

Game 2
2-1
WIN
1 ringer, 1 sub, 8 exhausted kids
JP played entire game without subbing...just check out his face and hair at end of game.

Perhaps the mommies of the Lightning should make a trip to the local hardware store and each purchase a roll of duct tape.

I do believe we all get just a wee bit excited at these games. And the funny thing is that we know the boys can't hear us, so why do we continue to scream?

We are soccer moms. Real true soccer moms.

We are the same moms who really quite calmly cheer our boys through a baseball game. There is the occasional shout at a basketball game. I mean last Thursday I actually sat with crossed lady legs and a soft clap through a flag football game.

I only bring this up because as I thought back to the middle of the game where I looked down and literally all of us mom's were yelling, I had to giggle at how funny we must sound to the other team.

Still I love shouting out to the boys. And really it is not all direction, most of it in fact is encouragement to all the boys not just my own.

Oh how I love a good soccer game. And great mom friends to scream with me!

Two Phrases...

photo of 30 weeks

Modified Bedrest

No more shopping

*gasp*

Yesterday I had another doctor appointment. Well actually this week I have had 4. The boys are doing great. A weighs 3lbs 5 ounces and is still breech and B weighs 3lbs 7 ounces and is still transverse. I am now 31 weeks. But my cervix has started to open, soften, and shorten. So in high hopes of keeping these babies in until at least Oct 22 the doctor gave me the orders for those two little phrases.

Just a mere 27 days will allow me to deliver here at home with a doctor I really really like. Prior to that I have to deliver in the big city with the perinatologists that I really don't care for. And the nurses...I have come to know most of the nurses at the hospital from our twice weekly monitoring.

My "fun" outings will be kept for the kids sports events where I do get to just sit and watch. Although Janelle you may have to put duck tape over my mouth so I can refrain from the excited screaming at the soccer games!

AJ's first day of school...

I really don't know where the time has gone. It seems like just yesterday this little lady was sitting in a car seat carrier next to her big brother on his first day of preschool.
It is amazing how fast the time goes.
She picked out this very very special skirt and shirt from The Childrens Place, completely by herself. RIght down to the belt, socks, and hair bows. Notice she is also donning a necklace.

She is so ready. She also thought she was going to be the most beautiul one there. Her confidence was not lacking.

I couldn't resist this shot. She was so ready for school, I had to actually ask for a hug and kiss goodbye!
She enjoyed the first day, but was disappointed that they didn't learn anything about letters.

What is your 2 am comfort food...

Well it is 2 am and I can't sleep.

This seems to be a regular thing these days. I suppose my body is just preparing to be up for feedings in the middle of the night.

So as I wondered the house at 2 am I decided to feed the growl in my tummy. I had high hopes for some Captain Crunch, but was disappointed when I realized Aaron ate it yesterday.

So I settled on a bowl of Kix. Afterall it is Kid tested AND mother approved.

It was delightful.

So what was or is you middle of the night snack when you are hungry and can't sleep?

Ramblings of a 3rd Trimester...

These are the thoughts that have been racing through my brain hour after hour ...

1. I need to post about AJ's 1st day of Preschool.

2. Maybe I am in denial about the whole preschool thing seeing as how when I filled out her book order last night I wrote JP's name on the student line. I mean when did my baby get old enough for preschool anyway?

3. My son is getting ready to deliver his first "political speech" in his effort to persuade his classmates to vote him onto the Student Character Council. He wants to be elected so much, I pray that his efforts are rewarded. He has high hopes of the other kids being turned off by the meetings you must attend if you are on the council. Although I am not sure he knows what bribery is exactly I can see his little politician side coming through...he hopes the kids will vote for him because he is bringing food for the food pantry EVERYDAY, in hopes his class will win the contest.

4. I think I could be in denial about 2nd grade as well. Everytime I think of school I keep saying 1st grade. And wow am I amazed at how vastly different and advanced 2nd grade is compared to when I was in 2nd grade. Unbelievable.

5. The great car seat debacle of 2008 has resolved itself, I am so glad I am a complete weirdo and wanted to install them a month ago when I was 26 weeks. The car is now loaded with 4 appropriately fitting seats and the trunk is loaded with 2 chairs and one double stroller AND I still have room for groceries...I love my car. And no it is not a SUV. Amazing huh?

6. I can't seem to get motivated to put the final wall decor up in the babies room. I think it is the ribbon stressing me. I am unmotivated to attach pretty ribbon to the canvases my husband painted. Of course I can't hang anything else until those canvases are hung so I am stuck.

7. Clothes...I am begining to hate them. How can we possibly have so many? I spent yesterday switching the summer and fall clothes around in BOTH the kids closets...what a feat. And now I will no longer be shopping for a VERY LONG time because they both have more than enough clothes.

8. I can't figure out my bedroom: do I keep it looking nice and just stick the double bassinet next to Aaron where it fits? Or do I move the furniture around making the room look silly and off center to put the bassinet on my side?

9. This morning I decided to finally empty my answering machine of its 43 messages. I apologize if you have tried to call and gotten endless rings.

10. I really am fighting the urge to seriously empty out the attic and go through everything. This is where my husband is probably freaking out and saying WHAT?! I have an intense desire to sort and get rid of stuff up there and shoot while it is all down why not at least set aside the Christmas items I will need in just 6 weeks eh?

11. Did I mention 2 weekends ago I walked out into the garage and saw a vision which I called and asked my husband if he could do it TODAY. He is such a great man because he did. He completely emptied one side of the garage and slatwalled the walls and then hung shelves and moved it all back. We now have soooo much more space and JP has quite the art table. Thank you husband.

12. I wish AJ could survive with less stuff. She has a need to sleep with LOTS of stuffed animals, blankets, and books. You never know when you might want to read in the middle of the night. It does not make it easy however to keep a clean room. Well let me rephrase that...It does not make it easy for a DAD to clean and put away all her things properly. And have I mentioned my lack of motivation in all things that require bending over?

13. My friends rock. They can appreciate the need for all things pretty. Or in this case handsome. Have I mentioned yet how much I love my new twin nursing pillow with its totally cute blue and brown cover! It really gives me the desire to go crazy and cover anything that doesn't move with fun new fabric!

14. My mom. Her excitement and generosity towards these twins is awesome. The woman is a bargain hunter. She literally spends endless time searching for just the right gift for someone. And sneaky. Most of it done right under the person's nose. Once again she nabbed quite the little bargain load of 3-6 month clothes for the boys. She also braved the elements of IKE and sharpened her elbows to attend a mothers of multiples sale with me. She is the coolest.

15. Sunday night dinners. I love eating dinner with my parents on Sunday nights. I love sitting down at the end of the week and eating together all 6 of us. Recently the kids have ended these dinners putting on shows by telling jokes and ghost stories. This past Sunday it was just really special to see my Dad express his gratitude for family as he reminisced at all the dinners eaten at that table....the same table that used to be in his own Mom's house. I look forward to many loud dinners with the twins soon!

Wow if I even have your attention still I think I will just end my thoughts abruptly because I am hungry...

Bring on the cake BABY!

Yeehaw! I passed my 3 hour glucose test!

Who wants to meet me for donuts?

Followed by lunch complete with cupcakes and ice cream!

Yea!

My first failed test...

Well it has happened.

Today I received a big fat FAIL on a test.

More specifically my glucose test for gestational diabetes.

It is quite possible that the 10 1/2 gallons of yummy delicious ice cream in my freezer, just may have something to do with the results. I'm just guessing.

So it is off to do a 3 HOUR LONG test on Monday.

UGH!

You would think with as many medical advances as we have that they would figure out a more convenient way to make a final diagnosis on gestational diabetes. Like I don't have better things to do than sit in the outpatient area on a Monday for 3 HOURS. I suppose 3 hours would be ok if they had lazy boys and individual tv's, but please I gotta share 1 magazine with 50 other people. And have I mentioned how not fun it is to NOT eat for more than 12 hours!

So on other updates with this pregnancy....

I am now beginning my twice weekly NST testing at the Labor and Delivery Ward of the hospital. That along with biweekly doctor's appointments, plus the kids activities is making it quite necessary to just go ahead and hire a personal secretary to follow me around and remind me where to go when.

I may also need to invest in a plethora of various colors of hi-lighters.

Although I have never forgotten to pick JP up from school, I really feel that this could be the year. Why can't my cell phone have a friday only alarm for early out anyway?

On a side note, if you have never had your blood drawn by an old high school ex-girlfriend of your husbands...let's just say it is gonna hurt and you may have a bruise.

Oh and a big thank you to JANELLE for providing me with the "you look awesome pregnant" super cute red shirt. If only Liz Lange was still making this shirt, I would go buy it in EVERY color.

28 weeks...

28 weeks
Hopefully just 7 1/2 weeks to go! The discomfort is definitely making me crabby. The boys are very very active throughout the day.
Yesterday my mom treated me to one last 3-D ultrasound. Baby A gave us a great peek at his beautiful face, but Baby B kept his little face hidden behind his brother's back.
Here is Baby B's thigh and arm and if you look close you see Baby A behind him.
I was quite surprised at how 'chubby' these boys look. Remember it was only a week ago that they measured 2pounds 4 ounces and 2 pounds 3 ounces.
Here is the great face shot of Baby A. For those of you who do not remember JP as an infant, Baby A is the spitting image of his big brother.
Isn't it just adorable?

Did you see the little fist up on the forehead?

Happy Labor Day!

This weekend the kids and I stepped out of our comfort zone and sold auto parts.
A sidewalk sale of nothing but high performance auto parts. Of which I know nothing about.
JP was pumped to sell 'man stuff'. AJ just enjoyed copying her brother.

This is the outfit JP chose to wear to sell parts. He likes watching the car shows with his Dad and most of the guys wear dark shades inside and outside.

All in all the weekend was successful. It may have been more successful if we would have had the bikini clad car model, but since I am VERY pregnant and AJ is only 4 we skipped that marketing tool.
It was a fun weekend of selling with my Mom, Dad, husband, and kids. Of course the grilling was good too. Nothing like tailgating in the parking lot surrounded by car parts.
Now we are off to celebrate this very last day of summer with a little swimming.
